HI,

I am in no way a expert Frame user so this might be a stupid question.

I just upgraded from 5.5.6 on Solaris to 7.2 and it works fine but where
is distill, I just use it for creating PDF files from HW schematics
which as output as PS files?

I have noticed that the PDF file created from Framemaker now says that
it was created with Normalizer instead of distill!

cheers

Adobe, in their inimitable fashion, stopped supporting Distiller on Solaris.
They support it only on Windoze and perhaps Mac (probably not).

Fortunately we had been running an older version of Frame, and just kept
the old distiller (/opt/Acrobat3/bin/distill) in place. It is dated
January 11 1999, so perhaps that is the one that came with Frame 5.5.
It still works fine.

You could also run distiller on Windoze if you have a license, although
then you don't get all the nice (fmbatch) script stuff that Unix has.

I have no idea what Normalizer might be.

Lucky you, I wish I had Acrobat3 on Solaris (:

The one with 5.5.6 is
Acrobat Distiller Command 3.01 for Solaris 2.3 and later (SPARC)
