When I add materisl within a chapter in Windows Frame 7.2, the pages at the
end of the chapter lose their master page assignment, resulting in no
pagination, etc. There is only one master body page, no left and right
pages. Any ideas, fixes?

You still have at least one master page, a right. How do you know it's not
being assigned?

hi, tim -

in Format->Page Layout->Master Page Usage, Use Master Page -- the drop-down
list changes from Body Page to None on these pages. It happens
spontaneously when new text is inserted before the affected pages.

how've you been? I've been working pretty steadly for over a year now, I
think the worst of the recession is over, at least in Massachusetts.

So it appears that Body Page is a choice under Custom -- if that's the case,
and you're using it for your generic body page, that could be a problem. I
would use the right/left (which uses only right if no left master exists). A
master page assignment sticks to the page number, not the content, so when
content is pushed to a new page, it gets a default master -- left or right.
(But I would think that the additional page would be Right, not None.)

How do you know it's not being assigned?
And you can probably force it to be assigned to new
pages using the Master Page Mapping table.

Format > Page Layout > Apply Master Pages

Pops dialog:
Master Page Mapping table does not exist.
A new table will be created in the reference pages.

View > Reference Pages
Page down to last page, which should contain:
UnstructMasterPageMaps
Table below it is pretty self-evident.
Set: To
Paragraph Tag Name: Body
Right-Handed: Right
Left-Handed: Right
Range Indicator: Until changed

All pages created using Body (or other tag common to
all pages) should get Right page layouts. In any case,
you can force it with:
Format > Page Layout > Apply Master Pages

Update Book can also force it.

This relatively obscure feature may only exist in 7.x.
