???

Press the [I] key and the [V] key for the number 4.
Press the [I] key 3 times for the number 3.

I don't see the problem. If nothing helps, just copy the roman numbers
from Word.

Hi, Andreas

Very thank you for the reply. Maybe I have express the problem exactly.

Can you see the character Ⅶ and Ⅷ (from word 2003 )? And this two
characters are different from the VII and VIII. Can the same Ⅶ and
Ⅷ be typied in Framemaker?

Thanks again.

Sorry, I can't help you there as I don't see any roman numbers in you
last post.

But I'd suggest to check the font name in the Formatting toolbar and
check if you find the same font within Frame.

Hi, Andreas

I copy them from the special symbols in Word 2003.

Anyway, thanks again.

My newsreader displays your Roman numbers using MS Mincho, an Asian
unicode font. Unfortunately, FrameMaker does not support the entire
character range available in unicode.

As Andreas suggested, it is no big deal using combinations of standard
characters for Roman numbers. Unicode fonts include only literals from
I to XII and L, C, D, M, so you'll probably end up using combinations
anyway.

If you like the looks of the Roman numbers you get with Word, you could
create a character style in FrameMaker with a negative spread (e.g.
-10%) and a decreased stretch (e.g. 70%).

Johannes
