Adobe has announced FrameMaker 7.2
- Multiple undo
- Use schemas instead of DTDs
- Support for XSLT when converting to/from XML

Details on the Adobe web site.

Sounds like the emphasis is on structured authoring.

Multilevel undo has been requested for years.
Interesting that the Linux editor "vi" got it first.

To me the most interesting new feature is WWP 8.0 but
it's hard to say whether and how much it's an improvement.
That's probably why we will upgrade.

Guess I would feel more excited about XML/XSLT if I could
figure out the big benefit.

And $200 for an upgrade that adds 1 good feature and 2 small ones seems
a bit steep. Should be a free bug fix for 7.1 users.

Great - multiple undo! Give me footnotes wrapping to the next page and
I'll come back to FM...

Same for me as soon as they make it run on a Mac under OS X again -
after all Frame started on Unix.
