Discussion:
Problem applying paragraph tags using the drop-down list

FrameMaker 7.0 under Windows XT.

When I apply a paragraph tag using the drop-down menu, it works, but
from that time forward, regardless of where I place the cursor, the item
in the drop-down menu window continues to show the tag name that last
applied. It never updates to reflect the cursor position.

If I then apply a tag from the paragraph catalog, the drop-down list
window works properly again.

I didn't have this problem in FrameMaker 6, but some others have said
that this problem has always been around and that it is not a good idea
to apply tags from the drop-down list. "Always use the paragraph
catalog." they say.

I'm wondering if there is any solution to this problem - something like
a changed setting in the .ini file.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

This is a bug introduced in FM 7.0 nad not corrected in Fm 7.1.

See http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/327771.html

The solution *is* to not use the drop-down list.
The Paragraph Catalog is simply another interface to the same functionality.
Also consider using the F9 shortcut for applying tags.
